Looking Forward to the Weekend

Kara is hoping to get her strength and stamina back so she can enjoy the weekend with her family. She would like to take Emma to a movie today, if she feels up to it.

Probably all of us have seen the Disney classic "Pollyanna" and know about her wonderful way of facing the bad things in her life by playing the "Glad Game." Though it is sometimes difficult to see anything good about a particular situation, there usually is a silver lining, if you look at it the right way. And the good thing about the side effects Kara is experiencing is that they show that the chemotherapy is working! She knows that because of her health and age, the doctors can, and will, be very aggressive with her treatment. Unfortunately, that doesn't make these next few months very pleasant for her, but it will be worth it in the end.

But God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld His love from me!
- Psalm 66:19-20

Prayer Requests:
- Please pray that next week's test results show improvement.
- Please pray that Kara regains her strength, and the side effects diminish.
- Please pray for faith, hope, and good spirits for Kara.
- Please pray that the cancer is eradicated from Kara's body, permanently.

Thank you for your gracious and loving support of Kara throughout this. She feels so blessed to wake up each morning and find new messages of love and encouragement here.

Dear Kara, Matt and family,
This is the season of renewal and rebirth. I pray that the blessing of this season will be showered on you.
You know that you are in my daily prayers. I love seeing the pictures as I check the site every day.
Happy you had a good time with the children and the Easter bunnie. Tell Emma that those were the most beautiful eggs I had ever seen.
Much love, Mary Mgt and Gary

Dear Kara, What wonderful pictures, once again, of you and Matt and the children. Hope you and Emma will have a fun time at the movies.

You have come through so much already and you are so brave - we know the treatment is so intense and aggressive as it no doubt must be and how marvelous it is that you are tolerating it so well. Hope the fatigue is resolving and the appetite is returning. Please get plenty of rest and remember that you are in our prayers and thoughts every moment of every day.
Love, Aunt Betsy

KARA AND MATT, We each pray for you and yours often. We never forget about you.

All of these very harsh treatments will surely be helpful. We send hugs and lots of love your way. Gem and Family
PS Nora Jacoby called yesterday to ask about you and report that there are 400 people in three churches in Denison, Sherman and Shreveport who have you on their prayer list daily. We are so thankful to hear this and knew you would be as well!! Aunt Betsy

Precious Kara - Hi! ;)

I am so amazed as I read Karen Ritschel's comments in Home Again, Home Again! She said you wrote in her yearbook "I truly hope that you will find a way to let God in your life. I think you will find it a lot easier to take on the world with Him by your side." WOW!! What a monumental statement; what a chosen witness for Our Lord at such a young age, in high school! You remind me of the Bible verse "many are called, but few chosen." Matt. 20:16 In Deuteronomy 7:6-8 God states "the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself. verse 8 "because the Lord loved you." Jesus said in John (the disciple He loved) 15:15,16 "I have called you friends. You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you."

THE LORD BLESS YOU, KEEP YOU!

THE LORD MAKE HIS FACE SHINE ON YOU.

THE LORD BE GRACIOUS TO YOU!

THE LORD LIFT UP HIS COUNTENANCE UPON YOU.

THE LORD GIVE YOU PEACE.......
