Upcoming Tests

Kara and the family had a good Easter morning -- the Easter Bunny had visited Emma and Luke, and they had fun on an Easter egg hunt before church.

Sunday afternoon Kara was pretty wiped out, though, and has been dealing with severe fatigue since returning home from the last round of chemotherapy. She also has been experiencing ringing in her ears and accompanying hearing problems, which are other unpleasant side effects of the chemo.

Next Monday she will go in and they will run tests to determine how well the treatment is going, and whether they need to make any adjustments. This will be the first time since treatment began to determine its effectiveness, and we all hope that it will show that the treatment is working in getting rid of the cancer.

And so, though the initial shock of last month has worn off, there are new tests and challenges that Kara has to face, and she is handling them the best that she can. It is hard not to get discouraged and feel down, especially considering the way she is feeling physically.

Please continue to keep sending her your encouragement, and lifting her up in prayer. The cards, emails, and comments here on the blog really brighten her day, and we thank you for staying so supportive in the long-term.

Prayer Requests:
- Please pray that next week's test results show improvement.
- Please pray that Kara regains her strength, and the side effects diminish.
- Please pray for faith, hope, and good spirits for Kara.
- Please pray that the cancer is eradicated from Kara's body, permanently.

Thank you for your continued support of Kara during this difficult time.

What a GORGEOUS Family!!!!!!! So proud of all of you! When I look at your picture I am reminded of your Grandmother Neta as she use to tell me about getting Betsy, Bill, John and Karen ready and herself for church. Saturday night she would start polishing the shoes. After getting everyone ready, into the car, on the way to church, Karen would be sitting in her lap. She would be doing last minute details on her, Karen would fuss, Neta would jerk her around and Granddad Warner would say, "Now Neta, I don't think that's the Christian way to act." She said she was so tired and just wanted to pinch his head off! I wish I had recorded those wonderful conversations we use to have. She was, is; will always be an amazing woman to me! I Love and miss her so much. When we lived in Houston in 1977, she made the most delicious, nutritious soup for my husband who was in the hospital. I still believe her God given soup is what got him on the road to recovery.

Thought you might want to check out THE MAKER'S DIET by Jordan S. Rubin, www.makersdiet.com. His story of using the Word of God to recover his health is extraordinary.

I have your picture on my frig. so each time I look at it I am reminded to lift you; your family to Our Glorious Lord! To God be the Glory Forever!

Your cuz, Dee

Kara, you are truly an inspiration to all of us. We placed an Easter Lilly on our church altar on Sunday in your honor to lift you up in prayer and also to thank God for the gift of your faith that you are sharing with all of us. I'm sure that you will get tired and frustrated as you progress through the treatments, but always know that our prayers are with you and will help sustain you through this time of trial. Keep your eyes above and He will guide you.
Love, Janice and your Pennsylvania Family
