Results

Kara's scans showed a new spot on her brain, which they will treat with the Gamma Knife. It is smaller than any of the other tumors she had had in her brain previously. Her liver tumor is still inactive, and there are no other spots of cancer in her body. We had hoped there wouldn't have been anything new, but hopefully after getting this new spot taken care of, now that the primary site is out, there won't be any new growth.

Prayer Requests:
- Please pray for peace and comfort for Kara during this time.
- Please pray that Kara's chemotherapy (which starts again Tuesday) goes well.
- Please pray that the cancer be eradicated from her body, permanently.

Thank you. Your words of encouragement and prayers mean so much to Kara, especially at this time.

Dear Kara,

Words can't really convey the kind of encouragement that we want to give you during this time. Although the results are not everything that we hoped and prayed for, we do not waver in our confidence that God is with you, ever-watchful in guiding your care and providing you with peace and comfort. He is healing you and carrying you every step of the way.

We pray for His strength to fill you as you begin treatments with the Gamma Knife and with chemo. We love you and stand with you now and always.

Love,
Gina and Curby

I am so grateful that only one very small new growth was found during these newest scans. It is astonishing to think of how much you have overcome so far. We are very encouraged at how well you have managed all of the many challenges you have faced with this disease and in awe of the strength of your family and friends as you struggle through. We think of you daily and will continue to pray for good results as you seek treatment for this one new spot.

My Dear Kara,
You are such a brave soldier; I can only imagine how you felt when Matt gave you the news. I think of how much you have endured so far...you are truely a blessed and gracious person. We pray that you will concentrate on what His will is as He throws you new curves, and we pray that your upcoming treatment will lead to a complete eradication of this cancer from your body. Give kisses and hugs to our babies,
Love, Gamma and Gampa Aloha!!!

Dear Dear Kara, What a week you'll be having with the re-start of the chemo and with a new plan now for the tumor which will have to be treated also! I'm so glad it was found and I'm so glad that you've recovered so beautifully from your surgery with more energy and better nutrition on your side not to mention the wonderfully therapeutic hours with the children these last few weeks. We are so optimistic for full health and for full cure and are eager to see these last little remnants disappear completely never to return. You are uppermost in my thoughts and prayers day and night and are such a marvelous witness to our Lord's healing powers and to the power of prayer. You are supported so strongly in so many ways, and we know that our Lord Jesus has His hand over you at all times protecting you and sustaining you and helping you with the neuropathies and this recent news- so that you know more than ever that you are not alone ever for a moment and that His peace and comfort are with you just as our presence and confidence go with you each step of the way. It was so good to be with your mom and dad this past week and to see the love and confidence and faith that they exhibit in every word about you and the family. Take good care of your precious self and remember how greatly you are loved and how very dear you are to me. Much love, Aunt Betsy

Dear Kara,

We continue to lift you up to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as He carries you through. We continue to trust His healing hand on you.
Today when I delivered some work to an office, the receptionist there was overflowing with praise to the Lord for His answered prayer regarding her sister-in-law who had just had brain surgery last week. The doctors were amazed at the outcome, and she said it was a wonderful testimony to the Lord's healing power and answered prayer. She and her church will be praying for you as so many others continue to do so also.
We pray for comfort for you as your treatment continues, knowing that the Lord has you in His hands.
We love you,
Aunt Karen and Uncle Don

Kara, All of your prayer chain folks in New Braunfels are in full action - they all know we are about to start the new treatment plan tomorrow. There is no doubt in my mind that you have all on board necessary to handle this - all of this!
Prayer is more powerful than any treatment procedure that can be invented or tried. We have seen already what prayer has done and will continue to do for you and your family.
You have so many successful treatment procedures behind you and only a few left in front of you. Each of us hold you up as our inspiration, our example of true Christian determination.
Remember that we never stop remembering. Love, Gem
