Kara is back in Houston

Kara and Matt left La Grange early yesterday to beat the rush of traffic back into Houston. They were fortunate to have a quick trip back home. They were also fortunate in that their house did not flood, nor was there any damage from Hurricane Rita. We are hoping that Kara can get her Novalis treatment rescheduled as soon as possible. Emma and Luke are still at the farm in La Grange. Aunt Jean is down from Austin.

Kara,

We're relieved to hear that you are home, ahead of the rush. We hope that the Novalis can be rescheduled in a timely manner and that you will have more time to rest and get ready for the next round of chemo.

We look forward to visiting with you again soon!

Love,
Gina and Curby

Dear Kara, How good to know that you are safely home having had a fun little minivacation in La Grange with all the family! Getting there was the best part, right?! Thank goodness the return was speedier and that you found things in good shape at home. Your prayer was so wonderful and meant so much to me, especially to hear you voice that " All is well with my soul"- and to know that you truly have such a deep faith that all is well in God's hands and in His time. The Novalis and the upcoming chemo we know will be done as they need to be with your marvelous medical team arranging this next regimen -and hopefully your few more days of R & R will help make the difference in your positive response to the treatment. Please know you are continuously in my thoughts and prayers as you face the challenges of this week. Our Lord who controls the winds and waters so magnificently is so able to continue His loving healing and total curing of our precious Kara. Much love, Aunt Betsy

My dear Kara,

I came home from work today and there on the coffee table was a piece of paper with something written on it in black marker. When I picked it up to read it, I realized it was a prayer. When I questioned my husband about it, he told me our son asked him to write it down as he said it. Knowing the mind of a four year old, I know he prayed it for everybody - you, Matt, your Mom, Dad, John and Jean, the kids - and I want to share it with you. Here it is...

I TRUST YOU LORD
WITH ALL MY MIND
THANKS FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL WORLD
YOU GIVE US
THANKS FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL DAY
FOR MY FOCUS IS WHERE YOU BE
WHEN YOU GET LOST GOD WILL FIND YOU
WHEN THERE IS A STORM HE WILL GIVE
YOU A BREAK
IN JESUS NAME AMEN

Hang on to God Kara. Everything is going to be okay.

We sing praises to Your name, Oh Lord, for Your name is great and greatly to be praised.

With love.

Kara & Matt -
Glad you made it back home quickly! We went to our Farm near Corsicana. Normally a 3 hour drive....it took us 15 hours. That was Thursday. Once there, though, we had a great time. We came home Monday (4 hours). Fortunately no major problems - just a lot of branches in the yard. Have you heard when the Novalis will be? I hope it's this week. -Barbara Nowotny
