Novalis Completed

Kara has completed her Novalis procedure. A CT Scan taken this morning showed that tumor wasn't any bigger than when last scanned. Kara will have her next round of chemo next Thursday. She is going to go back to the farm tomorrow and join the children while Matt finishes the work week and getting the house back to normal after everything was "hurricane-proofed."

Praises:
- Thank you God that the brain tumor had not grown, and that there were no new ones detected.
- Thank you God that Kara was able to receive her Novalis treatment without any further delay.
- Thank you God for Kara's doing so well with her treatment, better than anyone could have expected. Thank you for the reassurance and comfort that gives Kara, and all of us.

Prayer Requests:
- Please pray that the Novalis treatment be successful.
- Please pray for peace and comfort for Kara during this difficult time of waiting for treatment.
- Pleae pray that the cancer is eradicated from Kara's body, permanently.

Thank you.

Kara, Your blog spot is awesome! What a joy it is to be privy to the successes - one after another -of your treatments. Jean has got to be one of the finest humans in the universe to do such a wonderful job with the blog spot and insodoing to bring us up to date and close to you - even if we are miles away.

Thank you both sincerely for allowing us to be on your team. We pray for you and think of you and wish all the success for you!

I try to put some type of unique phrase on our clinic calendar each month - something to give us pause as we dash through the days. When I was preparing October's I used this quote of Leonardo daVinci's: "Knowing is not enough;we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do."
Kara, you and Jean are certainly fabulous examples of folks who definitely "do" as is your brother who I know has been a valuable help to you and Matt during these last months as well.

So glad you are going to go back to the farm and relax some. This is a wonderful break for you and with such pleasant surroundings.

Our best wishes are with you, Gem

When you make a vow to Jesus,
Be sure to pay it!
He has no pleasure in fools.
Pay that which you have vowed.
Ecclesiastes 5:4
With His words, Jesus reminded me of a vow I made to Him almost 27 years ago that glory to His strength; the fear of the Lord I have not broken. Glory to Jesus!
My daughter, Jennifer, was almost 3 years old. One night after giving her medicine she passed out. We rushed her to Texas Children's in Houston to find she had a heart rate of 280+. Thus began our long; frightening ordeal of finding out what Supraventricle Tachycardia was. One thing I know for sure, it was a never ending nightmare until I got down on my knees, folded my hands and said, "Jesus, I promise You I will NEVER take another drink of alcohol if You will heal my precious, beautiful daughter, Jennifer, of this P.A.T.." (irregular heart beat)
About a year later, after many frantic trips to the doctor; emergency room, she saw her doctor; he pronounced her well, but wanted to keep her on the medicine for another year since she was so young.
Today, she is a beautiful; young lady 29 years old - one of Jesus' Mighty Warriors!

Kara, We are thankful that you were able to complete the treatment and get out of the city. Enjoy a few days in the country and rest with the babes. Thank heavens for the farm! We are all so relieved that Houston was spared. Take care and enjoy your time there. Fondly, Jan and Fred

Whew! I'm glad you were able to get in and get that over with. I just don't believe everything you've managed to make it through in this past year. Soon, please God, you can have your normal life back.

Kara - this is FANTASTIC, FANTASTIC, AWESOME news! You must be just bursting at such a good report. Now maybe you can really enjoy the farm. I second the comments that Jean has done a marvelous job. I check your site daily and love reading what she and your brother write. (Also what you write!) Have a really good time this week. Love, Barbara Nowotny

Dear Kara,
"Thank you Jesus, thank you God" have been in my heart and on my lips as I've been cleaning up after the hurricane. Those same words are in my heart and on my lips now, as I read that you were able to receive your treatment yesterday, that the tumor hadn't grown, and that there were no new ones either. Thank you Jesus, thank you God.

With love, from a friend at church.
