Chemo Postponed

Kara's next round of chemotherapy has been postponed to schedule the pinpoint radiation this week, if possible. Her bloodcounts are low, so they won't do the radiation or the chemo until those numbers get better. Kara will use the time to continue planning Emma's party, the kids' Halloween, and doing some nesting around the house -- Mom and Dad brought down the piano so when Kara's neuropathy improves, she can show Emma and Luke how to play the piano.

Prayer Requests:
- Please pray for peace and comfort for Kara during this time.
- Please pray that Kara is able to receive the pinpoint radiation on her brain this week.
- Please pray that the cancer be eradicated from her body, permanently.

Thank you.

Dear Kara, How wonderful that your medical team is so careful with you in all parameters. Another week hopefully will have you in the best possible shape blood count and nutrition wise! Try not to overdo the home activities and projects with the little ones. I'm so glad you have the piano and wish I could be there to hear you play. We all need more music in our lives, and I'm so glad Luke and Emma will have a chance to participate in mom's hand therapy too. Who knows? We may have a little one with perfect pitch or a little one who can play by ear as well! My thoughts and prayers continue with you day and night and especially for your full return to your usual healthy state. Much love, Aunt Betsy

Precious Child of God Kara,

Jesus said for you to focus on --
Jesus Christ --
The same yesterday, today; FOREVER!
Hebrews 13:8
How can I, Jesus, forget your hard work for me?
The countless ways you have shown your love for me?
All the ways you still show me your love!
Be anxious to receive all I have promised you because of your strong faith; your patience.......
I am bound with an oath, all I promise will be done!
I can not lie!
This is my assurance, take courage; know without any doubt I will give you the healing; long life I have promised.
I am a strong, trustworthy anchor!
Even to your old age I am He, Jesus.
Even to your gray hairs will I carry you!
I have made you!
I will bear you!
Even I will carry and I will deliver you!
Isaiah 46:4

Kara - You're in my thoughts and prayers every day. I know you can't wait to get started on that pinpoint radiation. I bet it will do the trick. When is Emma's birthday? What is the theme you're planning? Love, Barbara

Dear Kara,
I hope you are starting to feel better and that all of these side effects will start to subside soon. I didn't realize you played the piano--that will be a lot of fun to play with Emma and Luke. My dad used to play with my sister and I when we were little. :) Hope you have a wonderful relaxing week!
Love,
Lesli

Kara,

You are always kept close in our thoughts and prayers. Keep on getting stronger and lose yourself in your family this week - laughter is nature's best medicine. We pray that you continue to win your battle. I can hear the house ringing of chopsticks already. Wish we still lived close - we all miss you guys and wish we could be there to offer more than just our warmest heartfelt thoughts. Love Chris, Catherine, Nicholas and Justin.

Dear Kara,

It sounds like you are going to be making a little music while you get ready for the next step in treatment. I'm so glad that you have the piano now and can share your love of music with Emma and Luke!

We're praying for you, especially asking for the Lord's comfort and encouragement to flood your heart and your mind, protecting you from all fear and doubt during this time.

Love,

Kara,

So glad that you got a chance to go to Austin with the kids and to have some fun in the bubble bath! We continue to pray each night for you and know that God will be with you to eliminate the cancer from your body. We will be thinking about you as you get the gamma procedure and pray that the next round of chemo will rid you of the pain.

Love,
Megan, Eric, Bailey, and Grant

Hi, Kara,
What a busy time you're having with the kids! Fall can be so hectic but be sure to allow time to rest. We love all the pictures. We pray for the doctors and their wise decisions. We also pray for your complete healing.

Kara, Matt and family,
I'm know that this extra "rest" time before additional treatment will accomplish its goal. Special fun times with Luke and Emma will speed up the process. We love the pictures! Our life group and friends are continuing to pray for complete healing, and we are resting in the knowledge of God's loving care for you--his child. Love to you and your family,

Mary & Rodney

Dear Kara, What wonderful news to know that all the family is with you this week-end to hear that the fun and lovely piano music that you and Emma and Luke are playing each day! I'm so glad that you have this extra time to rest and recuperate and even to meet with your P.T. and O.T. team to get some good ideas of ways to help the limbs return to more normal function and feeling. Take good care of your dear precious self and know that you are deeply and greatly loved and prayed for every moment of every day. Love to all, Aunt Betsy
