Good Week

Kara felt much better over the weekend, and has gradually worked up to eating more during the day. The family spent a lot of time outside enjoying the unusually cool and pleasant weather in Houston, going to the park and playing in the yard. We discovered this weekend that Emma is a volleyball prodigy, and that Luke has learned how to take off his diaper during his naps -- Kara and Matt were greeted with quite the surprise when they went in to get him up from his nap...

Kara has to get some bloodwork done today, but other than that she should have a pretty easy week ahead of her before she starts Round 4 of chemotherapy next week -- the second week after her treatment is usually her "good" week. Kara will take it easy and rest up for what's ahead. She still lacks much energy and stamina, and is having to adjust to that, a tall order for someone who's used to being so active with her children.

Praises
- Thank you God for seeing Kara through her struggle with nausea.
- Thank you God for giving us affirmation and assurance that the treatment is working.

And may these words of mine,
which I have prayed before the Lord,
be near to the Lord our God day and night,
that He may uphold the cause of His servant
and the cause of His people Israel
according to each day's need,
so that all the peoples of the earth may know
that the Lord is God and there is no other.
- I Kings 8:59-60

Prayer Requests
- Please pray for the reduction in Kara's side effects and for increased strength.
- Please pray that she feels God's presence with her, that she may feel His peace.
- Please pray that the treatment is successful in eradicating the cancer, permanently.

Kara, What a wonderful report. How far you have come and how well you have done!! Obviously none of us can have the true appreciation for your improvement- but from one of your many fans - you look and sound great as does all the fun activities with the family this weekend. We continue to pray. Hugs, Gem

Dear Kara and Families,

I am so thankful to Jesus for Him keeping His majestic hand on you. I am so humbled by His Love. Your Granddad Warner told me his favorite verse is:

If my people who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (them)

2 Chronicles 7:14

I am in awe of the love/support of your families. What a wonderful heritage.

My prayer is for Our Jesus to return.

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Titus 2:13

Come Lord Jesus.

Hi Kara,

Am so glad to hear you all enjoyed the pretty weather this past weekend outdoors. What good news that you felt like being outdoors with active Emma and Luke. Thanks, Jean, for those cute photos of Kara and the kids in the park--and that one of Luke "digging". The shovel looks as big as he is!!
Thanks for sharing the verses from I Kings 8. Our Lord is faithful to uphold us and meet our needs daily. We thank Him for His watch care over you and continue to keep you in our prayers.
Love,
Aunt Karen

Kara,
You are an inspiration. Praise God that you are one of His, loved and cherished. He is carrying you through this and is constantly with you. God is so amazing. Don't lose faith and trust in His ability to restore your health.
I was just thinking about last September when we were all sitting around talking before Laura's baby shower. Looking forward to those times again once your treatment is over. You and your family continue to be in our prayers. Love, Carolyn, Mike, Chris and Andy

Hi Kara!

I was reading an article on the CBN website on Suzanne Somers who was diagnosed with breast cancer 5 years ago. It read:

This marks Suzanne's 5th year NED -no evidence of disease - following breast cancer. She said, "Cancer has been a great learning experience. It taught me that I have courage, and how much I am loved. There are blessings with cancer if you choose to look for them. By choosing to build-up, I am enjoying superb health and hormonal balance. My soul is intact; my body is working beautifully. I am happy and cancer free."

On her website www.suzannesomers.com/LifeStyle/ click on Health Center she says she used radiation and the Iscador Treatment.

Continually Praying for you and yours! God bless.
