Feeling Better

Kara has moved on to eating things like macaroni and cheese and spaghetti, and feels much, much better. As of last night, she had kept everything she had eaten that day down. She hopes to be able to enjoy a nice, relaxing weekend now that she is not fighting the nausea. Emma went to see the ice capades last weekend, and Kara would like to take her to a movie about ice skating this weekend, if she feels up to it.

Praises
- Thank you God for seeing Kara through her struggle with nausea.
- Thank you God for giving us affirmation and assurance that the treatment is working.

Prayer Requests
- Please pray for the reduction in Kara's side effects and for increased strength.
- Please pray that she feels God's presence with her, that she may feel His peace.
- Please pray that the treatment is successful in eradicating the cancer, permanently.

Thank you for continuing to pray for Kara, and to offer her your words of love and encouragement. This phase of the treatment process can be very difficult and discouraging, but it is incredibly important nonetheless for the person undergoing the treatment to remain positive and confident about things. Your prayers help Kara to do so.

Friday April 22 2005 Dear Kara, How good it as to talk with your Mom and Dad a few minutes ago and learn that you didn't actually have to go into the hospital this week! Thank goodness your're able to tolerate food now and have been able to be home with the family - resting and regaining your strength more each day.

Round III must surely have knocked out a lot more tumor cells and hopefully has a total cure that is much closer! I can't even imagine how you can be so brave and so upbeat and positive - except you know how aggresive the treatment has to be to keep the bad guys on the run; still it would be so hard to deal with the day to day and moment to moment reality of how to deal with the immediately consequences of the therapy.

Your patient and trusting spirit and your courageous full of faith attitude keep you in a winning mode always. Our prayers continue with hope, faith and fervor knowing that our Lord is healing you every moment of the day and night - removing all obstacles to your usual wonderful state of strength and perfect health.

Emma and Luke, Matt, Jean, John Jr. and your Mom and Dad all play such outstanding roles in the healing process. I am so grateful to them for their dedicated care so totally enveloping you at all times and for their good strength and health and faith which allow them to be there continuously in spirit and in body to do all of the many things no one else can possibly hope to do. What a team! Love, Aunt Betsy
