Update

Kara had a quiet weekend at home, trying to minimize her nausea and fatigue. She has been continuing to have problems keeping much of anything down, including simple things like Jello and broth. She will have another round of tests next week to check on the shrinking of the tumors.

Prayer Requests
- Please pray for the swift reduction in Kara's side effects.
- Please pray that Kara feels the comfort and reassurance of God's sustaining love and peace.
- Please pray that the treatment eradicates the cancer from Kara's body, permanently.

Thank you for your prayers and words of concern and encouragement.

Kara, I listened to Adrian Rogers, Pastor of Love Worth Finding Ministries, testimony. He had a baby boy who died of crib death on Mother's Day when he was a student in seminary. I'd like to share his inspiring thoughts with you:
God drew us close together through all of this.
God never uses anything till He first breaks it.
We went through a brokeness when our little boy went to Heaven.
We turned to God with all our hearts.
One man ask Pastor Rogers, "Are you still serving God after what he did to you?
Pastor Rogers explained to him he had it 180 degrees wrong. Had there been no sin - there would be no death. I will not line up with sin and Satan. Satan has a greater enenmy than he has ever had in me now. I am not lining up with the one who is the agent of this problem. I am lining up with The One who is the answer. I do know this. The suffering of the present time is not worthy to be compared to the Glory that will be revealed.
Jesus, I put my trust in You.
Bow down Your ear to me.
Deliver me speedily!
Jesus, my strong rock!
Lead me, guide me.
You are my strength!
I will be Happy; Rejoice in You.
Make Your face to shine upon me.
How GREAT is Your goodness!
Blessed be the Lord.
I LOVE You!
Be of good courage!
He will strengthen your heart!
Kara, who looks to Jesus.
Psalms 31

We are praying for your strength and courage through this recovery. This song is on my heart right now, and I thought I would share some of the words with you. I hope they comfort you.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
For the things of earth will go
strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.

May God grant you peace today.

Dear Kara,

While you are going through all of this--the nausea, the exhaustion, the discouragement--we continue to pray for you. Words may not help right now, but we pray that your spirit would be strengthened, even though your body is feeling so weak.

We love you,
Gina and Curby

Hi Kara,

This Mother's Day I thank our Lord Jesus Christ for giving you a heart for Him, a heart that loves her husband and children. In our weakness His strength is made perfect as we depend on him more and more. I pray the Lord will honor your trust in Him and strengthen your body in these days so that you can eat and drink and regain your vitality.
We love you,
Aunt Karen and Uncle Don

Kara, I had the honor of attending church on Mother's Day with my Mom. Our preacher told of his recent trip to countries where, until recently, Christians were forced to hide while they held prayer meetings and studied the Bible together.
Thankfully, we are far from this type of threat. As we pray today for your continued improvement, we are sincerely grateful that we may look to our healing Almighty God.
Kara, you are never alone. Our Lord God looks over you and our loving wishes and prayers surround you. Feel it! Love, Gem
