In February 2005, Kara was diagnosed with a rare form of metastatic brain cancer – large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma. She is a devoted mother of two, and a caring and generous wife, sister and daughter. This blog was started to keep family and friends informed of Kara's progress. The thoughts and prayers Kara has received through this blog have been an unending source of hope and inspiration, including many kind and encouraging comments from people she has never met. We thank you all.

I am praying even now for the Lord to touch Kara in a special way--a mighty way--and relieve the abdominal pain. May she feel the Lord's presence and renew her body and spirit. Love and prayers, Mary Sullivan
May God help take away the pain and be with you, Kara.

We will say an extra prayer for you tonight. XOXO The Thomases
Dear Kara,
You are always in our prayers. We pray that they can find the source of the pain and alleviate it soon.

Dear Kara, What a different kind of week you've had and how wonderful that you were able to come home to rest and heal from the fall, to guide and encourage Emma and Luke in their first weeks of school, and to continue your faithful Bible study and witness program for all of us. I so hope that your pain is gone, dear dear Kara, that you can participate with all the family as you so enjoy doing, and that you remember always how very greatly you are prayed for continuously. Please know that our Lord is all powerful and all caring and miracles are such a specialty of His. May His hands heal you completely, hold you peacefully, and touch your beautiful spirit comfortingly as He surrounds you with His healing powers and strength. Love to all, Aunt Betsy
