In February 2005, Kara was diagnosed with a rare form of metastatic brain cancer – large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma. She is a devoted mother of two, and a caring and generous wife, sister and daughter. This blog was started to keep family and friends informed of Kara's progress. The thoughts and prayers Kara has received through this blog have been an unending source of hope and inspiration, including many kind and encouraging comments from people she has never met. We thank you all.

I can't believe you let Jean grow up without teaching her about drinking out of a Watermelon! I haven't ever used straws, but seems like the proper way.......
Oh, the fun of the juice running down your chin; tickling your stomach!
As Granny Neta would say - "Thank you Lord for taking care of Emma and Luke so they didn't fall out of the folding chairs!"
Thanks for sharing the pics! This looks like so much FUN!
Way to fight, Kara! Nice to see you outside enjoying the day. Who is that fat lady in the striped shirt? Haha, I haven't seen her pregnant in the flesh yet. Love to you all!
Hi Kara,
It was great to see you at church last Sunday; I'm so glad you are starting to feel better and get back on your feet. :) I hope you are having a good week and tolerating the new treatment well.
Love,
Leslie
