Kara's bloodcounts are up where they need to be, and she can proceed with chemotherapy on Wednesday. She'll have a PET Scan performed at the end of the month to see what, if any, tumors remain. She and Matt will meet with Doctor Lynch at the end of the month as well.
Kara and Diane, Matt's mom, have had a good week with the kids. Emma and Luke have had fun at Vacation Bible School, and have enjoyed having their mommy up there helping out!

In February 2005, Kara was diagnosed with a rare form of metastatic brain cancer – large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma. She is a devoted mother of two, and a caring and generous wife, sister and daughter. This blog was started to keep family and friends informed of Kara's progress. The thoughts and prayers Kara has received through this blog have been an unending source of hope and inspiration, including many kind and encouraging comments from people she has never met. What great news--we celebrate with you on the many wonderful things that have happened this past week!! And what a blessing it's been for you to have the energy to play an active role in VBS. God is so good!
We love the photos at Lake Travis--everyone looks like they're having such a fun time. It actually reminded me of our times with Granny and Granddad on the pontoon boat at Lake Texoma. We have so many wonderful, treasured memories! And we look forward to so many more!! Please share our congratulations and warm wishes with Aunt Lois and Vaughn this weekend.

To all those who share this site, I feel so blessed to have been in the middle of what seemed to be a miracle in the making. I wish you all could have seen a new attitude, Kara's "positivity" and joy. So many good things happened in such a few short days. I know they are in God's hands, and He will do only good for them. Kara NEEDS this cancer to be gone from her body NOW. She NEEDS to be WELL, not tomorrow, not soon, but NOW. Thank you all for you continued prayers; they really are working.
