Goes Home Tomorrow

Kara should be able to go home tomorrow in time for Emma's birthday party. Since the party is outside, she shouldn't have to worry too much about germs and getting another infection. Hopefully her lab results today will show all her levels back at a normal level. Her white blood cell count when she entered the hospital was I believe less than a third of what it should be, and her hemaglobin was at a level that could have led to cardiac arrest. We are very thankful that the fever was caught and treated early, and she was given prompt treatment to correct her low bloodcounts. And we are very glad Kara will get to be with Emma on Emma's special day, after all of the hours Kara has spent planning and thinking about the party.

Please pray that Kara continues to improve, and that the cancer is eradicated from her body, permanently.

Thank you.

Hi Kara,
I awoke this morning with the song, "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" in my thoughts. I have been singing it and want to share some of the words with you:
"What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.
What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
Leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near, Leaning on the everlasting arms.
Leaning, leaning, Safe and secure fom all alarms;
Leaning, leaning, Leaning on the everlasting arms.
This is our prayer for you, that you will be at peace as you continue to trust the Lord.
We are very grateful that you have gotten good care, and we trust you blood counts are back to normal now.
Have a fun time at Emma's birthday party and give her a hug for us, please!
Love,
Aunt Karen

Hi Kara!
I'm not surprised that you will be going to Emma's party regardless. I know just how stubborn you can be, but it's really good in this case. I'm sure you all will have a wonderful time. You're such a good Mom! Give Emma hugs for us and ...what the heck... make sure you include Luke, Matt,your Mom and Dad, and of course yourself. We love you bunches and continue to keep you in our prayers.
Jana and the gang.

Dear Kara,

Hopefully you're back at home by now. We know how powerful and effective the chemo is, so it's a tremendous relief that you have recovered from those dangerously low blood counts and are continuing to improve.

It's wonderful timing, too, because you will be able to enjoy Emma's birthday party. This is a very special day for both of you and for the whole family.

We love you, Kara, and look forward to talking with you soon!

Love,
Gina and Curby

Kara,

Soooo glad you are doing better. Thank goodness!! It was so nice to get the chance to talk to you the other day. You sound good.

Bailey and Grant loved the bday party. Bailey was sooo excited to show me his pumpkin and the pez!! Thanks again for a wonderful party for the kids!

You continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. I look forward to spending some time with you again soon. Perhaps, when you are feeling better....just us two girls can go to a movie or lunch or something.
