Good Report

Kara's oncologist is very pleased with how well she has responded to her treatment thus far. He had expected success with the regime of chemotherapy he had her on, as it has been shown to be successful in treating her type of cancer, but he wasn't expecting such great results so soon, and for her to have tolerated the most difficult and aggressive form of chemo so well. He is very encouraged.

Kara will meet with the surgeon again next week, and surgery will probably be scheduled for the week of August 8th, to give her time to regain some strength and get her bloodwork and fluids stablized before undergoing surgery. Kara has been working on getting her leg muscles and energy back, and has taken to getting some exercise by walking around her church several times. She uses her walker for balance, and Emma perches on the walker to add some weight (and encouragement!). We had thought Kara's surgery would be scheduled sooner, but are glad that she will have some more time to recover and have some "good" time with her family.

More tests will be performed on what is removed from her liver, and that will determine whether or not her oncologist wishes to do another couple of rounds of some sort of follow-up chemo. If she gets the all-clear, she will have a hysterectomy after she recovers from her first surgery.

Praises:
- Thank you God for providing Kara with reassurance and hope that you are healing her.
- Thank you God for Kara's knowledgeable, positive, and encouraging health care providers.

Prayer Requests:
- Please pray for increased strength and diminished side effects for Kara before her surgery.
- Please pray for comfort and peace for Kara as she faces two major surgeries in the coming months.
- Please pray that that cancer is eradicated from her body, permanently.

Thank you for continuing to share your time, thoughts, and prayers with Kara. Your steadfast presence in her life is a source of great comfort to her.

Dear Kara,
You are my inspiration as I work on my knee PT. When I get tired of doing the reps, I think...one more for Kara...You go girl, have the races around the church hallways. Thank You Lord for the wonderful report; give strength to Kara to keep moving forward, to Matt to keep up with all his responsibilities. Love, gamma and gampa

Hi Kara,

We are so very grateful to hear such a good report about you from Gina and Curby. They thoroughly enjoyed their visit with you all and were greatly inspired by your strength of faith. We trust the Lord to continue to wrap you in His love and grace as the rest of your treatment unfolds and He blesses you with full recovery.
Love,

For she said within herself,
If I may but touch His garment -
I will be well!

But Jesus said as He turned about to face her --
Daughter Kara,
Be of good comfort! Your FAITH has made you well!

Kara was made well from that hour.

Matthew 9:21,22

Kara, you have seen Jesus face to face. You have touched His garment. He has pronounced you worth to live and declare His marvelous works!

To God Be The Glory Forever!!!!!!!

Hey girl!
So glad to see your smiling face. Dad asks me all the time about you. You know how he is about his "horseback girls". Karakay (not everyone can appreciate having a horse named after them, but it really is an honor) just had this years colt and he is a cutie! I'll try to get some pictures for you. The horseshoer was trying to shoe her, and the baby kept nibbling on him, his tools, his mom, anything. He called him Nuisance, but I think we'll call him JJ for Jet Jr. because he looks like his older brother. I sure do miss having you here to be "horsey" with, but I know you're here in spirit, just like I'm with you in spirit. Love ya bunches! So glad for the good news!

Dear Kara, How wonderful to get to visit with you and the family this past wk-end! You looked terrific altho a bit tired which was not unexpected of course; the twinkle was back in your eyes especially as you watched Emma and Luke, and your beautiful smile was completely intact ! It was so good to be able to see you in person and to know how far you've come with the miraculous healing. I was delighted to hear from your mom that both of you are walking in the church at a pretty good pace and that you are getting stronger every day! Now for the food to kick in and do its part! What grace and strength you show us all not to mention perseverance and incredible faith. Please know how much we continue praying throughout the day and nights for your continuing return to full health and renewed energy and remember how much we love you. Aunt Betsy
