Good News!

Kara met with her surgeon today, and he and her oncologist feel that since the spot on her liver is so small now, and doesn't appear to be active, that it would be better to just monitor it and not make Kara undergo a major operation like that. The doctors are hopeful it will continue to stay as it is, and will not need any attention. But they will keep a close eye on it to be sure.

They will move up Kara's meeting with the gynecological oncologist to see how best to proceed with addressing the primary site (cervix) issues.

Kara is glad to have more time to finish recuperating after chemotherapy.

Praises:
- Thank you God for the success of Kara's treatment, and that that success has eased Kara's future treatment, making the liver surgery not necessary right now.
- Thank you God for the reassurance that you are hearing our prayers.

Prayer Requests:
- Please pray for increased strength and diminished side effects for Kara before her surgery.
- Please pray that that cancer is eradicated from her body, permanently.

Thank you so much for your steadfast concern and prayers for Kara.

Kara - What glorious news! You know Mom has often said that we must remember our prayers are always answered - just not always the way we would want them to be answered. But today - we have another of those very positive answers - the big YES, YES, YES - things are looking really wonderful.
We will keep on praying and looking forward to more of those positive answers. I will call Mom now so that she will know the latest. She does ask me each day what I have heard about you and your progress. She was so glad to see you and spend some time with you recently. Hugs, Gem

Hi Kara,

Thank the Lord for His faithful love and care for you! What an encouragement to learn that the therapy was so very effective, even to eliminate the need for liver resection now. We trust you will continue gaining strength and recuperating completely. We trust the Lord to rid you of the bothersome side effects and fully restore your health.
Love,
Aunt Karen and Uncle Don

Dear Kara,
When we left Houston on Saturday, I felt good knowing that you had had such a good week. Although it was obvious that you were still having trouble eating, it seemed like you are making strides in so many other ways. Your humor is alive and well, and your spirits are in good shape. I pray that you will find strength to continue our PT; you continue to be my inspiration,
Love, hugs, kisses, and prayers for strength, "glamma" and "gampa"

Deat Kara, How wonderful to know that your surgeons plan not to operate on something that's not there! How appropriate and how much better for your body to continue regaining its strength and good health now that the tumors are gone ! How good our Lord is and what a wonderful testimony to His power and guidance as your medical team seeks the best possible course for you to follow-just as you have been following the path so important for your total recovery and with such faith and determination to stay the course. What a wonderful disciple and incredible example you are for all of us, dear Kara, our special child and treasure who has taught us all the power of prayer and God's miraculous workings. My continuous thoughts and prayers are with you each moment of every day and with each family member. Much love, Aunt Betsy
