This Weekend

Kara's nausea seems to be under control -- she has an upset stomach-feeling, but can keep food and liquids down. She is just very, very weak and almost constantly fatigued. She went to watch Luke's swim lesson on Wednesday, and that wiped her out the rest of the day. Having to go in to get bloodwork done, as she did this morning, is similarly exhausting. But she is feeling better than she did at this point in time after her fourth round of chemo, for which we are very thankful.

Fortunately this phase of treatment is nearing completion, and she only has one more round of chemotherapy to go before her body can begin to heal and replenish itself from the effects of the chemo. She is also very fortunate to have had such a great response to the chemotherapy, making the side effects well worth it!

This weekend Kara will continue to rest and build up her strength so she can enjoy next week, her "good week" before beginning her sixth and final round of chemotherapy.

Prayer Requests:
- Please pray for increased strength and energy for Kara.
- Please pray for physical and spiritual comfort for Kara during this trying time.
- Please pray that the cancer is eradicated from her body, permanently.

Thank you for your remaining committed to helping Kara through this difficult time, and for your prayers and kind and heartening words that encourage her daily.

Yeah Kara! one more round of chemo to go. We continue to pray for your peace of mind as you go through your treatments. We pray for a safe journey as we make our way back to Houston and your mom goes back to Joplin. We pray for energy for Doc as he works to keep up with Luke and Emma. May God bless you with the gift of good health, Love, Gamma and Gampa

Jesus, today on the 8th Annual Worldwide Cancer Prayer Day we ask:
Your healing power to touch those with cancer.
They are totally healed; restored -Completely protected from future incidences.
Jesus grant Your wisdom to doctors; scientists in pursuit of the cure.
Lord comfort the families.

In Job 42:10 your word says:
And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends; also, the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Thank You Jesus for reminding us of how powerful prayer is; how it honors You Our Lord, humbles us as we lift up our brethren to You.

Kara and family,

We have been traveling since the spring semester ended, but one of first things I do when I return home is check on the blog site to see how you are doing.

We are prayful that the treatment will continue to do its work to eradicate the cancer. I glad to know that the chemo will soon be over, and the focus can change to getting your strength and energy back.

Your children are precious. I enjoyed all the slide shows. Thanks to Jean, I feel like part of the family. Thanks for sharing your life with us via the updates, prayer requests and pictures.

Please give John Jr. (and John & Carol and family) our congratulations. I'm glad you were able to join the celebration.

May the Lord bless you, Kara, and renew your inner spirit as well as your physical body. Our love and continued prayers.

Mary & Rodney
