Emma and her snake friend! There are lots of little (non-poisonous!) garden snakes that live under rocks at the farm. The kids like to turn over the rocks and find them.

In February 2005, Kara was diagnosed with a rare form of metastatic brain cancer – large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma. She is a devoted mother of two, and a caring and generous wife, sister and daughter. This blog was started to keep family and friends informed of Kara's progress. The thoughts and prayers Kara has received through this blog have been an unending source of hope and inspiration, including many kind and encouraging comments from people she has never met. We thank you all.

Oh My Gosh, Emma has turned into her Grandpa Herynk. When we were dating, he would turn over every rock, log, leaf, always looking for bugs, snakes, or whatever critters Mother Nature had to offer. I never could understand it! When you are young and in love, you have patience for such things, and when you are a grandma, again, that patience fires up...love and hugs to our little bug and snake catchers...gramma and grandpa
