Chemo Postponed Again

Kara's bloodcounts are still too low to proceed with chemotherapy. She is discouraged that she cannot continue with her treatment, as the treatment makes her feel like she is "fighting" the cancer and keeping it at bay. Matt is trying to coordinate with her doctor what, if anything, can be done until her bloodcounts get where they need to be. They do not want to do another transfusion, as there is some risk involved in that as well.

Prayer Requests:
- Please pray that Kara's bloodcounts rebound and she may restart treatment.
- Please pray that the new drugs Kara's doctor wants to try will be approved by her insurance.
- Please pray for increased energy for Kara.
- Please pray that the cancer be eradicated from Kara's body, permanently.

Thank you. John and Carrie's wedding was lovely, and I will post more about that, including photos, tonight or tomorrow.

Dear Kara, How wonderful to see you this week-end! You and Matt and Emma and Luke almost stole the wedding from our bride and groom, and how we all loved seeing you looking so good, Kara. It was such a great surprise to find you at the RR track with your camera and your boys; Emma did a super job as tour guide of the bed and breakfast itself-complete to the old sewing machines in the attic. What a fun and memorable time for all and how grateful I am especially that you looked so good and so rested. I'm praying that the blood counts will come up when the new chemo is approved and that you'll be totally ready to begin anew with the tumor-specific treatment which hopefully will finish the job and let you know that it's been knocked out for good. You are such a marvelous inspiration for each of us,deat Kara, with your beautiful attitude and total determination, and what a blessing you continue to be to me. Enjoy this week and catch up on your favorite relaxation fun projects at home with the family! Much love, Aunt Betsy

Hi Kara,
We were so very happy to be with you and the family this past Saturday for John and Carrie's pretty wedding. How good it was to see you resting in the Lord and trusting Him fully. We are so very thankful for your testimony of God's grace.
We pray for renewal of your stength and normal blood counts as we trust the Lord for your continued care.
"Have you not known? Have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth faints not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding. He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increases strength.
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint."
Isaiah 40: 28-29, 31
We were so glad to hug you and Matt and the kids. We send more hugs to you all!
Love,
Aunt Karen and Uncle Don

Dear Kara,

We know how discouraging it must be for you to postpone chemo again, but we're glad that you have been able to rest some and allow your body time to prepare for the new chemo. What great news that there are specific, targeted chemo regimens that you haven't even explored yet!

It sounds like you had a wonderful time at the wedding last weekend. We wish that we could have been there, but Mom and Dad shared photos with us. You, Matt, and the kids, along with everyone in the family, looked so joyful and content. What a blessing to be together to celebrate John and Carrie's wedding!

We're praying that your blood counts will improve and that your insurance company will approve the new chemo drugs quickly and smoothly. The Lord is your Provider, your Strength, and your Shield in all things and in times of deepest need.

We love you,
Gina and Curby
