Kara is Home

Kara is back home after her latest complication-free chemotherapy round. We are very thankful that she has gotten these eight rounds behind her, with minimal complications. She will spend the weekend resting up with her family.

John and his girlfriend Carrie found out yesterday that they both passed the Bar! John has found a job in The Woodlands, a suburb north of Houston, and Kara and her family are glad that he won't be moving away. On less good news, Mom slipped and fell last week at the farm and broke one ankle and strained the other. She's doing pretty well with her casts, and Emma comes over in the afternoons to play educational computer games -- Emma is even reading a bit now, and is looking forward to reading to her mommy.

Prayer Requests:
- Please pray that the side effects from this round of chemotherapy be minimal.
- Please pray that Kara has a complication-free recovery from this round of chemo.
- Please pray that the cancer be eradiacted from Kara's body, permanently.

Thank you very much for your continued presense in Kara's life. Your love, prayers, and encouraing words help sustain Kara through these difficult times. Kara will have scans performed at the end of the month (November 30, I believe), so please get the word out for prayers that the scan results show no new growth.

Dear Kara, Hope this finds you home recovering uneventfully from the final round of chemo with fewer side-effects than before, with a little more energy to read to and with Emma and to play with Luke! Congratulations, John and Carrie on passing the bar-a wonderful accomplishment! This should be a good week-end of rest and good recuperation for all in anticipation of fully normal reports in 3 weeks. Please take good care of your special selves and enjoy being home with all the family. Our prayers for full recovery and healing for both Kara and Carol continue each day. Much Love, Aunt Betsy

Fear not!
Stand still!
See the Salvation of the Lord,
I will show you TODAY!
This cancer, Kara, you will see no more FOREVER!
Though I have afflicted you,
I will afflict you NO MORE!
I will strengthen your weak hands;
confirm the feeble knees.
Jesus goes before you!
He will fight for you!
Joy comes!

We're so glad you're home after finishing chemo. What a blessing! Congratulations to John and Carrie -- what a milestone! Your poor mom. We send our prayers as she recuperates. Emma is starting to read -- wow. It seems like just yesterday that your mom was sending us pictures of her as a baby! What a close and wonderful family you have. Love, Curt and Linda

Aloha to a beautiful lady! You are everything God has tried to teach us about Love. We are home in Topeka as of last night and will get unpacked, washed, mail opened, and repacked so that we can be on the road again to Houston. Our prayers continue for complete eradication of your cancer, and now for quick mending of Mimi's ankles.
All our love, gamma and gampa

I know that you and the family are all excited about Emma's progress with the educational programs - but we are so sad that Carol has her ankle challenges. Those things are so painful!!
