Chemotherapy begins

Kara has begun her first three day stay at Methodist Hospital. This morning she had a whole brain radiation treatment. This afternoon, she will begin her chemotherapy. As I understand it, she will get six chemotherapy treatments over the next 18 weeks. She will also get 15 radiation treatments over the next 3 weeks. Kara is in good spirits and ready to move forward with her treatment. But this will be a trying time for her. She will likely lose all of her hair, and she is concerned about how the children might react. Please keep her family in your prayers.

PRAYER REQUESTS:
- That the chemotherapy and whole brain radiation is successful in treating any remaining cancer Kara may have
- That Kara is as comfortable as possible during the treatment.
- That Kara is able to keep her spirits up and remain hopeful during this trying time.

Kara, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm a friend of John's from school (and I've seen how much he cares about you and your beautiful children). I hope and wish for nothing but the best! Great comfort can be found in knowing that what is essential in life is invisible to the human eye. Take care and God bless.

Good morning, beautiful Kara. You are the angel in our son's life. Our prayers are with you to be strong and let the Lord work for you. He truly is in charge. Luke and Doc will enjoy their outdoor time. I pray for all those who are answering Emma's questions and concerns; that they will know and say whatever will set her mind at ease. We love you, "Gampa and Gamma Herynk"

I have been praying for Kara for about three weeks now and will continue to. Mary & Rodney Sullivan are great friends of mine in our home church in Brownsville, Tx. I will link this page off of my web/online journal page so more people can pray.
