Update

Kara has been tolerating this type of chemotherapy much better than the kind she previously receieved. She's a little tired from it, but does not have to fight the nausea like previously, and nor is she as fatigued.

Matt's parents and his sister, Jenny, and her two children have been visiting this week, and everyone has been having a good time -- especially Emma and her cousin Samantha, who are about the same age. Matt's mother has sent me some photos that I will try to get uploaded on the blog.

Last weekend Kara and the family were at the farm, celebrating Doc's 61st birthday. Matt attended a conference in San Antonio on recent developments in cancer treatment, had the opportunity to meet a researcher who is doing some very innovative things with diagnosing tumors more precisely -- on the protein level -- and correlating the specific tumor type with treatment regimens that are most effective with that specific tumor type. That may yield some very promising new treatment options.

We are very happy to share that John and Carrie are now engaged. We look forward to Carrie's joining the family "officially." She and John both have found jobs in the Houston-area that they are enjoying.

Our Aunt Lois, Mom's sister, and the gentleman she's been seeing, Vaughn, are also newly engaged. We look forward to welcoming him into the family as well.

Prayer Requests:
- Please pray that Kara tolerates her new chemotherapy regimen well, and that there are no complications.
- Please pray that God continues to give Kara hope and peace.
- Please pray that the cancer be eradicated from Kara's body, permanently.

Thank you.

Dear Kara, How wonderful to have such good support again this week and especially for Emma and Luke to enjoy their little cousin! The new chemo sounds like has some real benefits- no nausea and less fatigue-that might well be worth some other side effect which no doubt has crept in although hopefully to a much lesser degree. We're so pleased to welcome Carrie and Vaughn officially into the family, and it's always great to hear such good news for both John, Jr. and for Aunt Lois. Our Lord continues to bless us in so many ways, and how grateful we are for all His marvelous blessings to us for good health and good people. Rest when you're able, Kara, and know our prayers for your full recovery and for your miraculous healing never cease day or night. Love to all, Aunt Betsy

HAPPY 61st B-DAY JOHN!!!!!!! Jesus has been good to you cause you don't look 61! What a blessing you have been. I know He has given you many favorable memories with all His children you delivered. Through the portals of Heaven your Mom and Dad were with you - they are so proud of you. Your Dad had the picture of you delivering the baby in his eye sight always. He told me about the picture many times when I visited with him. Wish we could have had another Denison Jone's BBQ Dinner to celebrate! This should be the official BBQ of Texas.

How precious is Your Lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.

Psalm 36:7

The Hebrew word for lovingkindness means "unfailing love, steadfast love, mercy, goodness." God extends lovingkindness to us, His children. Like a mother hen brooding over her chicks, the Father invites you under His wings to be protected, warmed, and filled. There, you can relax and rest.

Thank you Jesus for Dr. Lynch; the wisdom You give him; his staff, for Kara's new tolerable treatment - what a blessing!
Thank you for Matt; the Love he has for Kara and his family as he constantly searches for Your path of healing.
Thank you for all the love that surrounds Kara; keeps her going.

Look at you guys! I don't get to check on you for a while and you go and have birthdays, and engagements, and stuff like that. That'll teach me to fall behind. Really though, Happy Birthday Dr. Kelly. Dad sends his best wishes too!
Kara, I know God has the strength for you when you need it, but you can call me anytime, day or night, if you just need a friend.
Love you all bunches, and think of you constantly.

Everymorning since we returned from Houston-Sam says, "I want to go to Emma's house". SHe had such a great time doing art, playing dressup and dancing naked (with Emma not Matt). Heath misses yelling and destroying things with Luke. Thanks for the wonderful time. Enjoy some peace and quite while you can! The Thomases
