Update

Mom has been fighting a bad case of Staph infection, but is doing much better. Kara and the kids were tested for it, and the kids have come back as negative, and hopefully Kara will, too. Both Dad and Mom are on some anti-Staph drugs.

Kara, Matt, and the kids have decorated their house for Christmas, and are getting in the holiday spirit. Kara, Carrie, Emma, and I will be going to The Nutcracker in Houston weekend after next. Pictures with Santa will be coming up soon!

Kara continues to receive Avastin this week, and has been tolerating it well.

Prayer Requests:
- Please pray that for continued energy for Kara, so that she may enjoy the holidays.
- Please pray for insurance company approval of Avastin.
- Please pray that she continues to tolerate Avastin well.
- Please pray for that the cancer be eradicated from Kara's body, permanently.

Thank you.

Thanks, Jean, for the good photos of you all at the farm over Thanksgiving. What beautiful autumn weather you all had! We are grateful for birthday celebrations for Kara and for YOU as well, Jean! Your birthday this year was on Thanksgiving Day, and we are very grateful for you and your faithful updates for us regarding Kara's progress. We praise our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for both of you!

We love you all,
Aunt Karen and Uncle Don

Dear Kara, How much fun you must be having in anticipation of the holidays! No doubt Emma and Luke were great helpers with the tree and house decorations as well as with any baking you might need to do. They're such wonderful ages and so animated always looking forward to the many projects their mom has in mind for them. Thank goodness your treatments are considerably easier on you this round. Keep remembering how important rest and good nutrition can be to prepare you for the next treatment and to help do battle with a stronger body. You are so in our thoughts and prayers each moment of each day and night. Please take good care of you and keep up your awesome spirit which has carried you through so much and which inspires all of us. Much love, Aunt Betsy

Kara, The highlight of my holiday time was seeing you and your family. What a wonderful setting -a gorgeous new country home, generous trees and warm, friendly surroundings. Wow!
I am so fortunate to know all of you and see your love and caring kindness in action.
You are so kind to have given us so much of your time and energy that day.
My best wishes to you and Matt and the adorable children. My special thanks to Jean, John, Carrie, Carol and Doc for all they do. Love, Gem

Obedience = Abundance
Winning = Endurance

The people were very discouraged; they began to murmur against God;
to complain against Moses.
"Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die here in the wilderness? they whined. "There is nothing to eat here, nothing to drink; we hate this tasteless manna raining down to us each day from Heaven."

So the Lord sent poisonous snakes among the people to punish these complainers. Many were bitten and died.

The people came to Moses and cried out, "We have sinned. We have spoken against Jehovah; against you. Pray to Him to take away the snakes!"
Moses prayed for the people.

The Lord said to Moses:
Make a fiery serpent;
Set it on top of the pole.
EVERYONE THAT IS BITTEN
WHEN THEY LOOK ON THE SERPENT
WILL LIVE.
Moses made a serpent of bronze;
put it on top of the pole.
If a serpent had bitten anyone
WHEN THEY BEHELD THE BRONZE SERPENT
THEY LIVED.
Numbers 21:5-9

Jesus, may Your Word of Healing go forth.
Lord, turn us from the illness to set our eyes on You - Our Savior, Our Healer, Our Redeemer forever.
"with His stripes we are healed."
Isaiah 53:5
As Moses lifted up the serpent
even so must the Son of man
be lifted up,
That anyone who believes in Jesus
Will not perish, but
Will have eternal life.
John 3:14,15
