In February 2005, Kara was diagnosed with a rare form of metastatic brain cancer – large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma. She is a devoted mother of two, and a caring and generous wife, sister and daughter. This blog was started to keep family and friends informed of Kara's progress. The thoughts and prayers Kara has received through this blog have been an unending source of hope and inspiration, including many kind and encouraging comments from people she has never met. We thank you all.

Carrie Cox told me about your web site. Through your trials you are such an amazing witness for the power and love of Christ in your life.
Proverbs 2:17-18
Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who embrace her; those who lay hold of her will be blessed.
You are and will continue to be in my daily prayers.
In His service and with much love,
Lisa (Gaydos) Hogue
Dear Kara, What wonderful photos of the birthday party in the country complete with David and Emma, cow cake and all the trimmings, and plenty of outdoor fun activities at the farm! Such a memorable time for everyone and a special occasion for our birthday boy on his 2nd BD! You look so good in the pictures and hopefully are getting plenty of rest and good food and are more and more involved in the day to day programs for Emma and Luke, as I know you long to be. Thank you so much for continuing to share these wonderful times with all of us on the blogspot and know how very much we appreciate being included in this fantastic high tech modality. Stay well and healthy this next week and know that our prayers continue that the upcoming studies will all be good and negative! Much love, Aunt Betsy
Kara, the birthday celebration pictures are great. Tell Carol that she's quite creative! The cow patties were especially impressive!! You've been blessed with delightful January weather! It was a perfect time to escape citylife and enjoy Luke's birthday at the farm. You certainly deserve a break from treatment and testing. We continue to pray for healing and complete recovery. Mary & Rodney
