In February 2005, Kara was diagnosed with a rare form of metastatic brain cancer – large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma. She is a devoted mother of two, and a caring and generous wife, sister and daughter. This blog was started to keep family and friends informed of Kara's progress. The thoughts and prayers Kara has received through this blog have been an unending source of hope and inspiration, including many kind and encouraging comments from people she has never met. We thank you all.

What a testimony your family is Kara to our Jesus! Your Granny and Granddad are so PROUD of all of you. I'm looking at pictures of Emma and Luke - beautiful, perfect children - so healthy, so happy! They look like they just got back from Disneyland! What a glorious example your Dad, Mom, John Jr.,Jean and you are to what a family can accomplish working together. The fire didn't separate you, it pulled you closer together. Glory to Jesus!
All your children will be taught about Jesus,
Great will be the peace of your children.
Isaiah 54:13
Thank You Jesus for this family. The outstanding example they are. Your Light and Life shines so brightly through them.
We have been blessed.
A creamery! Cowee! How appropriate. No wonder he loved it. He's such a doll, and Emma too.
Hello Kara and Matt,
What wonderful photos of Emma and Luke! Am glad they can enjoy the country life with bugs and Blue Bell!
We are so very grateful to hear that Kara has come through the latest chemo well and is staying hydrated and nourished to keep up her strength. Thank the Lord for His love and mercy; we trust His healing hand on you, Kara, and are remembering you in our prayers each day.
Love,
Aunt Karen and Uncle Don
Dear Kara,
How quickly the kids are growing! They had a wonderful summer, full of many new experiences and exciting firsts. It's so amazing to think that Emma's 4th birthday is next week!
We're so glad that you are back at home, recovering and planning for the big birthday party. We are praying for renewed strength each day, and we're asking the Lord to overwhelm you with His everlasting love, joy, and peace. We are so grateful for His healing, and we rejoice in what He's done and continues to do in you.
We love you,
Gina and Curby
