In February 2005, Kara was diagnosed with a rare form of metastatic brain cancer – large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma. She is a devoted mother of two, and a caring and generous wife, sister and daughter. This blog was started to keep family and friends informed of Kara's progress. The thoughts and prayers Kara has received through this blog have been an unending source of hope and inspiration, including many kind and encouraging comments from people she has never met. We thank you all.

For the 41 years of our relationship, Gampa Jim has always turned over rocks, sticks, whatever, all the time looking for bugs. Now he and Emma have something to do together! I am happy to turn over this to Emma.
What a unique picture! The beautiful little Princess, Emma, I have had the pleasure of watching grow-up through my computer pictures!
She is so cute with her watchful expression of her new "bug friend!"
I bet Grandad would love this one.
